House Rules

1. Substance-Free Housing

Resilient Roots Living is a drug- and alcohol-free housing environment.

  • The use, possession, sale, or distribution of non-prescribed drugs or alcohol on or near the property is strictly prohibited.

  • Any resident found using, possessing, or distributing prohibited substances may be required to vacate the property immediately with personal belongings, in accordance with the occupancy agreement.

  • Residents may be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing. A positive test result or refusal to test may result in termination of residency. Rent and fees are non-refundable.

2. Smoking Policy

  • No smoking or vaping is permitted indoors at any time.

  • Smoking is allowed only in designated outdoor areas, if applicable.

  • Residents are responsible for proper disposal of smoking materials.

3. Safety, Conduct & Zero Tolerance Behaviors

To protect all residents, the following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Theft or damage to property

  • Bullying, harassment, or intimidation

  • Arguing that escalates or disrupts the household

  • Sexual activity on the premises

  • Pornography in common areas

  • Violence, threats of violence, or aggressive behavior

  • Any illegal activity

Residents must immediately report any safety concern, disturbance, or rule violation to the landlord or designated contact. Failure to report known violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of residency.

4. Cleanliness & Shared Responsibilities

  • All residents are responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary living environment.

  • Shared household duties are required of all residents.

  • A weekly cleaning schedule will be posted and must be followed.

  • Residents are expected to clean up after themselves in all common areas.

5. Quiet Hours & Curfew

  • Curfew is 11:00 PM.

  • Quiet hours must be observed out of respect for all residents.

  • Phone calls should be made between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM only.

  • Any unforeseen circumstances affecting curfew should be communicated in advance when possible.

6. Bathroom & Shower Use

  • Due to shared space, a shower schedule may be posted to ensure fair access for all residents.

  • Residents are expected to be respectful of time limits and cleanliness.

7. Visitors

  • Visitors are not permitted on the property.

  • Any exception must be requested in advance and approved by ownership.

  • Unauthorized visitors may result in disciplinary action.

8. Bedrooms & Personal Space

  • Residents may only sleep in their assigned bed and room.

  • Eating is not permitted in bedrooms.

  • Residents must respect the privacy and personal space of others at all times.

9. Rent & Payments

  • Rent is due monthly and no later than the 4th day of the month.

  • A $75 late fee will be applied to late payments.

  • Accepted payment methods: cash, check, cashier’s check, or money order.

10. Move-Out Notice

  • Residents planning to move out are asked, as a courtesy, to provide at least one (1) week’s notice.

11. Rule Enforcement

Violation of any House Rule may result in disciplinary action, up to and including immediate termination of residency, in accordance with the occupancy agreement and applicable law.

Acknowledgment

By residing at Resilient Roots Living, residents acknowledge that these House Rules are a condition of tenancy and agree to comply with them at all times.
